There is a table full of "goodies" in the kitchen for a co-worker's birthday, and my office is located RIGHT next to said kitchen!! So I've locked myself in my office with some grapes and a few walnuts, and I'm just going to keep my hands busy typing this message until the urge to indulge passes. (Might be a long message, folks!! Anybody read War & Peace lately??) Wink

The sweetness of the grapes, combined with the crunchiness of the walnuts, appears to be working. Urge has passed. I shall now continue with my regular scheduled programming....

That's funny how you put that, Shannon. I'm glad that the grapes and walnuts helped you out. Congratulations on passing up the goodies.

Good morning, Cindy! It is 7:40 a.m. and I'm the first one in the office and the remaining cakes and cookies are still in the kitchen. However, I anticipated that and brought more grapes, walnuts, and blueberries...so I am READY FOR BATTLE!!!

Thus far, no temptations. However, even if I have one today, I doubt I would even be able to walk next door to the kitchen, because I did the QFS Hips & Thighs workout this morning (at shall I say, I ATTEMPTED to do all of it!) and Gilad kicked my butt!! I can really feel it.

Your strategy for resisting temptations is a good one-pack healthy snacks to munch on instead. Way to go, Shannon! I've been doing the same thing. They have been passing out chocolate candies at this workshop I have been attending, and I just pull out my raisins and dried cranberries instead! Smile

I know what you mean about the QFS Hips, Thighs, and Buns workout. I think that it is one of the very best in the QFS dvds. I remember when I first did it, I certainly felt it the next day, muscles that I hadn't worked in years! But it does get better. I do the workout now and I feel so much stronger doing it. So keep with it! Very Happy

Hey Cindy ~~ It's good to know that you found that particular workout to be tough when you started, too. Now I don't feel like a wimp, and have hope that it will get a bit easier each time. It is now 6:00 p.m. and my thighs are SCREAMING for mercy (but in a good way).

Tomorrow morning (in fact, the next three days) will be interesting. I'm house-sitting for some friends and their home is simply not set up for any sort of movement (on top of which they have a little dog that loves to get underfoot). I brought my QFS and Express DVDs in hopes that I can rearrange their living room and convince their baby to just sit down and enjoy the show! I wonder if one can use a dog as a free weight? Sure hope I remember where everything goes when it comes time to put the room back together! If not, maybe I'll just tell them I'm taking a decorating class and needed some practice.... Idea

Currently ignoring deep-fried veggie springrolls. I know the urge will pass if I just keep myself busy for a few minutes. This reminds me of quitting smoking and posting to a non-smoking forum...waiting for the urge to pass before returning to real life....although those urges came about every 45 seconds!! I didn't get much done for a long time, but sure made a bunch of new internet buddies! Laughing

OK...co-workers ate the last springroll, so the temptation is over!

Back to reality....
