Get Over the Hill
If downhill walking is more your speed, you may still be experiencing important health benefits from your workout.
Although both uphill and downhill walking are good ways to get fit, research shows the benefits of each may differ slightly. In a recent study, walking downhill appeared to have more benefits in terms of improving blood sugar control. Walking uphill is thought to have the greatest impact on controlling blood cholesterol levels. |

Now isn't that interesting??
My neighborhood is very hilly so every time I take a walk I go both uphill and downhill (and some flat areas, too). So, sounds like I'm getting a good little workout.
