okey dokey... I got the Get Quick Fit System for a birthday present. It's what I asked for and what I got. I was soooo happy. So, yesterday, for the first time I did the Cardio Blast. I actually did ok because the moves were pretty easy. Then I got up this a.m. and did the Cardio Strike. I didn't do quite as well because I don't have the moves down. But, I finished it and felt great.
Then I started to do the Abs dvd. Well, when he started doing the "bring your elbow to your knee..." I followed right along until I realized there is no way on God's green earth that MY elbow and knee are touching each other while I'm on the floor. I started laughing at myself (it really was funny), but hung in there as long as I could. Now, I've got to get ready for work.
Does anyone have a guess on whether or not the miracle of the "elbow-knee" touch will ever occur?
At least it was funny. And, the scenery (Gilad) ...oh...never mind *chucle*.
Thanks for any advice! _________________ "I just want to live happily ever after every now and then" Jimmy Buffett |

Depends on how long you are willing to keep it up. I statred at 260.5 lbs and there were many moves that I couldn't do. I felt the same way about the elbow touching the knee. Now after 39 weeks I can touch the elbow to the knee on the same side. I could do my right side 3 weeks sooner then my left side. I hope the right knee and the left elbow will meet soon as well as the other set. It will happen if you are willing to keep up with it. Everyone's journey will be a different length. It is one of the most important ways to mark your progress. Because increasing your fitness and flexibility is far more important then the weight you lose. I can do nearly every move on all the videos with near perfect form. I did not start out that way. Good luck and keep pushing.

Thanks Deb,
I'm taking your advice. Your words are encouraging. PLUS, it's good to know that I might be able to do one side more quickly than the other. I hadn't thought of that. It's good to know.

Deby already said it, but I just want to offer you even more encouragement! It will get easier.. soon you'll be shocked because you'll realize you got through the entire workout, or your pants are bigger or whatever it is that you'll be surprised over. I started the ABS workout and could only do the first 10 minutes for the first week (and rested A LOT the whole time). By the third or fourth week I had finished the entire workout without pause or rest and didn't even realize it until later. I practically cried with joy because that was the first real sign of physical improvement (not just weight loss). I was in denial over my health before I started with Gilad but now that healthy feeling is based on truth, not a mind trick. I AM healthy now (which I was definitely not before) and the weight loss is more sweet because of it. I.E. Icing on the cake!!
Congrats on getting started and don't give up! What do they say?.. This too shall pass. In your case I guess it is.. This elbow shall, too, pass the waist! (or something along those lines! LOL) |

It will happen!!! EVERYONE starts out not being able to touch their elbows to their knees...Or at least I would be REALLY suprised if someone who doesn't normally workout would be able to do it.
I am 5'7"...when I started QFS, I was 175 lbs. I couldn't touch my knees and elbows. Now...AFTER GOING THROUGH THE PROGRAM ALL 12 WEEKS (plus some) and losing 25 lbs. I actually hit the SIDES of my knees with my elbows If you would have told me that 15 weeks ago...I would have never believed you!!!
Anyway...EVERYONE is different, YOU WILL GET THERE!!! Just hang in, and soon you'll do it, then you wont be able to stop!!!

I was just about to post here about the same question! I don't think my knees and elbows will ever touch. They make it look so easy!
I am on day 14 and working on phase 2. I'm getting better at following the moves on the videos but I do get in a tangle sometimes with jab, cross, uppercut, hook...what?!
I'm loving this but was already a fan and working out with the TBS on FIT TV. I'm starting to be able to feel muscle beneath the fat and I have lost 4 lbs so far.
Great program and the best money I've spent in a long time!

Yes, it is well worth the money. In fact, I am sick that I didn't order it when it first came out. I have exercised with Gilad since he first started BIM on the ESPN channel. I am seriously considering ordering the set for my daughter whom lives away.
As for knees touching elbows. During abs, I have no problem. My problem is during cardio bringing knee up and elbow across. I blame it on me being short _________________ When life lets you down, music picks you up! |

Don't you think your being hard on yourselfs.
Be honest, how long did it take you to get out of shape?
At least give yourself that much time to get back in shape.
Be kind to yourself!
It will happen if you stick with it!

Thanks for any advice![/quote]Island Fever, I have to chuckle; I went through that a couple years back when I started QFS. Now I can get my elbow past my knee; it's awesome. LOL; Try doing this when pregnant!! My Dr. gave me the go ahead to continue QFS last year when I was pregant. I elevated my head for the abs segment, and with my belly in the way, couldn't get my elbow near my knee:-) But...My abs looked great and still do after baby. And that Abs workout, plus his ab moves in Total Body Sculpt really kick it up. |
