I've tried the work out video thing a few times before, lasted maybe a month, then that's it. Mostly it got boring, I felt stupid, and no results. That was quite a while ago. Now I'm overweight, and seriously out of shape (and been complaining and saying I should do something about it for 8 years now). About 2 years ago I had a knee injury and laid around for 6 months. That's when things really started to 'fatten up'. My knee is pretty much fine now, but now that leg is so much weaker than the other. In a way too I suppose I have a mental block thinking that my knee is going to hurt when actually it doesn't. Anyway, I stumbled upon fitv about three weeks ago and found Gilad's show. Got my butt out of the chair and followed the best I could - but found out how really out of shape I truely was! I've worked out twice a week, but I know I should do more. Problem is timing. I've been working third shift (11:30pm-8am) for about 2 months now and my body is rejecting it - I don't get very good sleep and am exhausted most of the time. I don't have very good eating habits either - mostly I don't eat because I'm too tired to get up early enough to eat and I don't get the time to pack myself a good meal for work. So, I'm looking for a new job, but for now will be fussing with what I've got. As for working out, video would be great, but knowing how I did with other video workouts, I'm just a little afraid to put the money towards it. The testimonials and posts all sound great, but what makes Gilad's system different from anything else (ie. I tried Tae Bo and I did it once and it sat on my shelf collecting dust)? Any commets would be appreciated.

Hi there Suz. All I can say about Gilad is his program works. I started working out with him in the early 90's. I'm 50 years old and have tried just about every exercise/diet out there and I ALWAYS come back to Gilad. I'm not thin, would like to lose 25 more lbs., but I am very FIT thanks to Gilad (could probably lose those 25 lbs. if I ate "green" every day). My blood pressure and cholesterol levels are much lower. Also, I quit smoking 10 months ago and exercise has kept the extra pounds off. So I say YES his videos are worth the money. I have several of his videos so I don't get bored. I also walk on my treadmill to mix it up.
Getting fit takes time. Be consistent with your exercise and you will see results. You are not stupid.
You should communicate with debyduz - now that girl is some inspiration! Good luck on your new job search. Take care. _________________ "You really gotta want these!"

Yes, this is worth it.
My testimonial: I ordered the Quick Fit System and ate better, slept better, had more energy, and lost weight before it even arrived in the mail. No, I'm not joking! How can this be? It's the wonderful people in this discussion board, who are SO supportive and such great examples of fitness, good health, and good attitude. They encouraged me to give this my all, and so I started exercising more and eating well while waiting for the QFS to arrive.
Here I the reasons I feel this is an outstanding program:
1) Great support online (see comments above).
2) Convenient. No need to go to a gym
3) Inexpensive. Compared to a gym membership or personal trainer, this is an amazing bargain. You can use this program forever. Besides, I'm probably saving enough money to pay for the QFS by replacing processed foods and ribeye steaks with more wholesome, less expensive choices.
4) It's simple. The workouts are planned for you. Just stick to the plan, and you'll start getting in shape.
5) It's flexible. If it's too hard or too easy, you can move up or down a level.
6) The nutritional guide is really good. I thought I knew how to eat well, but the advice here is really on target for both losing weight and for life-long good health.
6) Gilad. He's charismatic and energetic and makes the workouts challenging and fun.
7) It works. The bottom line is, if you do this, you will get fit and trim and healthy.
If you decide to do this, I'm here for you. I hope you get a shift that suits you better. My husband works 5am-1pm+, and that's hard enough to adjust to. Third shift sounds rough. Wishing you good luck,
Blue |

Hi Sue-z-q, and welcome!
Your post sounds so much like how I felt just a few short months ago (one exception being that I never made it to a whole month of exercising before quitting). I made the same excuses--too tired, it's hard and/or boring. I don't feel good, and so on.
Two big things made the difference for me in being able to keep going this time. One was finding Gilad's TBS. I tried working along with other shows and tapes, but either they were too advanced, boring, or the host was just too annoyingly perky. I do TBS most days, and they just seem to be the perfect "fit" for me. The exercises are tough but do-able, Gilad himself is charismatic, I didn't have to spend a lot of money, and I don't have to leave my house. Yes I do feel silly (sometimes I swear I can hear the cats laughing at me!)
The other thing that really helped me was my attitude. I always made sure I gave my time to others--at work, my family, friends, charity--everybody else in my life was more important than myself. I decided that I wanted to look and feel better, to have more energy, and to take time for me. That was much harder than finding the right exercise program. Instead of looking at working out as a chore, I look at it as a reward. I deserve to give myself the same respect I expect from others. I deserve to take the time and effort to improve my appearance, my health, and my self esteem.
Gilad's program is fantastic, as anyone here will tell you. But, ultimately, it's up to you to make up your mind that you are worth the time and energy, and keep telling yourself until you believe it. Use whatever tools you can (including this forum and QFS) to make better health happen.
And remember, if it were easy, you wouldn't have anything to be proud of when you start to see results.
Good luck to you! |

the program is definitely worth it. i am restarting the program on monday with my fiance. i've convinced him to give exercise videos a try. we're also going to be going all green for the first few weeks or so too! i'm very excited, and hopefully he'll stick it out through the hips, buns and thighs video
there are definitely a lot of people who will provide support if you get stuck or have a question or get into a rut!
best of luck! |

QFS comes with a money back guarantee.
Though I would never dream of returning mine or the pounds I lost.
The QFS eases you into to the program so you build up strength and endurance. The workouts are fun and really don't take that much time up. You really don't get bored of them. You will come to a point where you need to challenge yourself more or mix in some other types of fitness. That is good thing. Eating healthy foods at the right times and exercising daily may help you adjust to your job schedule. you learn to eat food to fuel your body instead of eating just because.
Make a list of the the things that you feel you can't do. Examples, exercise daily, take the time to pack a healthy lunch or snack for work. Then start tackling your list one a time. I have found I have more free time then I ever had. I exercise 6 days a week, work 2 jobs, and prepare all my food from scratch using whole grains, brown and wild rice, fresh fruit and veggies. I also clean my house more then I did before. where the free time comes from is all the mental head games I used to play with myself. Instead of going back and forth about what I should do I just do it and save the time.

~S
LOL; the difference with Tae Bo and Gilad's workouts is you can do Gilad's workouts if you live in an upstairs apartment:-) I tried Tae Bo several years ago when I lived on the second floor of an apartment and my neighbors were not thrilled. Neither was I; the workout just wasn't for me, so I gave it away. Gilad's QFS is sooo far from boring because you get a 'schedule', he tells you what to do on each day, and Sunday you get to recover. What I did was put out the tapes I had to do the next day; kind of like laying out your outfit for the next day, and I knew that's what I had to do that day. It worked, but you have to stay with it and take one day at a time. Gilad is easy on the eyes, so that made it easy;-) You have to want to do this; it will work if you keep at it. |

| I started doing QFS in July of this year. After completing I started using my other Gilad tapes. Besides having had a foot injury (not related to the QFS) I've been feeling very good and sofar have lost 22 pounds. Would like to lose more but I'm hanging in there. I am trying to decide on his new tapes. I think I will get the Power and Grace but also would like one of the others. probably not the one that you have to wear that belt with. |

Hi Sue,
I'm new to Gilad but came here with a knee problem and after trying another program that I like very much. It is by Leslie Sansone, very motivating, fun and low impact. The DVD's are quite reasonable on her website and sometimes you can get them in the stores if you look for them. I like Leslie's workouts very much as they motivated me and got me into shape.... enough to want to do more in spite of the knee pain. Just be careful... don't push yourself... but be consistent. You will find you'll want to do the workouts after just a few days of doing them - every day- and you'll miss them when you don't do them.
I have a child and work part-time and study for my PhD full-time... so like you I found it difficult to find the time until I gave up on the idea of setting a specific time of the day. It worked better for me. So I do my workouts at various times of day: early morning, mid-day, before or after supper, even very late evening.
Best of luck,
neda |

Hi Jodi,
I got it wrong. It's the stretch thing I was refering to but I thought it was a BELT.I don't know what it's called have to see if I can get one when I'm in the States.
Anyway we've got them all now besides the Elite Forces so as soon as I've finished the QFS I will integrate the new ones into the routine.
PS. What are you doing up so early???? |

Corry ~
I don't know why, but it lists me having been posting on the forum at 4:35 pm. In reality it was about 10:30 at night here. That clock is either very messed up or is running in the time zone of some unknown place!
